Am I Pregnant?†Feel your breasts.†The breasts can become sore, tender or swollen as early as one to two weeks past conception, and many women notice this as one of the first signs of pregnancy.
Am I Pregnant? Eating more pickles lately?†Some women will notice increased hunger or food cravings in the early stages of pregnancy, while others may have aversions to certain foods and may become nauseous from certain smells.
Am I Pregnant? What does your intuition tell you? Some women simply have a feeling. They know they are pregnant before a pregnancy test shows a positive result. The motherly instinct, or call it intuition, for these women just kicks in early.
When to take a pregnancy test
Whether you have missed a period, noticed early signs of pregnancy or just have a feeling, it is time to take a pregnancy test. HPTs (home pregnancy tests) can be very accurate if taken correctly.  Some tests are labeled as early result tests, and these can be taken as early as three days before a missed period. However, most tests will not be accurate if taken too soon. For the most accurate results, wait to take the test until you have missed a period. If you have irregular cycles, wait until two to three weeks after you may have conceived to take a pregnancy test.
HPTs work by detecting hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in urine.  HPTs can produce false results, both positive and negative so always follow up with your physician for a blood test to be sure.
