Realizing How Similar I am to My Mother

I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve done something – from a facial expression I made to some sarcastic comment that came out of my mouth – and quickly realized how similar I am to my mother. I find it funny and somewhat unsettling all at the same time and we laugh about it often!

She was a Stay-at-Home Mom

First of all, she was a stay-at-home mom and worked part time in direct sales so she was able to make her own schedule to be at home with us kids especially when we were babies. This afforded her the opportunity to pick us up from school, take us outside to play and prepare a home-cooked meal for us every day. Looking back, these are the things I remember and appreciate the most about her style of mothering.
